On November 5th I will run my first marathon. I’ve been a runner for about three years now and doing a marathon was never on my wish-list. Not even close. Yet, here I am only weeks away from heading to New York. Because that’s where we are going, me and my friend.

The luxury of choice
During all those hours of training it occurred to me that preparing for a marathon is not necessarily hard, it just requires making choices all the time. The choice to not skip the training. To go for a run early in the morning even when on holiday. To skip the alcohol. To pick yourself up after a shitty run. To train when it rains. To be flexible and create time for friends & family. I was able to make those choices and that’s a luxury. As is travelling to New York to go running. People with Brittlebones (OI) would make those same choices, if only they could. That’s why, during one of my runs I came up with ‘Beats for Brittlebones’.
Beats for Brittlebones
When I go running, I always listen to music on Spotify. I like the surprise element of not knowing what the next song will be so I often use random playlists. Now, I am asking you to help me create my own Beats for Brittlebones playlist of Spotify. And the marathon is a pretty long run so I am looking for a fabulous & divers playlist to get me through all 42,195 kms!
Here’s how it works
STEP 1 – You send me a song and I will add it to my Beats for Brittlebones playlist on Spotify
STEP 2 – I will make a personal donation to the Care4Brittlebones foundation for each and every song I receive
STEP 3 – It’s your choice if you want to make a donation to the foundation
Want to send me a song? Go to Send me your song! to submit your track! Anything goes, from Bach to Bon Jovi and from Hazes to Hardcore. And don’t hold back, as I will make a personal donation to Care4Brittlebones foundation for every song I receive!
Want to make a donation? Fantastic! You can send your donation to the account number listed below.
